I have known Barbara Jones since the early 1990’s when we worked together in the Investment Management Department of Jamaica Mutual Life Assurance Society as Senior Investment Analysts. As a colleague and co-worker I have had the opportunity to work closely with Barbara and collaborate on a number of projects, analyses and reports on behalf of the company.

Barbara demonstrated a tremendous capacity to grasp, analyze and unravel complex concepts and to present them in very comprehensible reports. She constantly exhibited focus and dedication to whatever projects she is charged with, while being simultaneously adaptive and innovative.
Obviously, the quality of her work must have impressed as she was made the Senior Financial Analyst, a position that required her to work even closer with senior management on a variety of special projects.

Barbara and I continued to work together beyond our common employment and over the years have collaborated on several business projects including business startups, business planning, project financing and analytical support for the funding activities of a major multilateral agencies.
I have certainly seen firsthand the tenacious drive for excellence that Barbara pursues in whatever she does. Working with her has certainly helped me to hone my own skills.

I have worked with Barbara Jones for over 30 years. A most resourceful, reliable and technically competent professional, she has been a key member of the core Consultancy team, handling all financial matters.


A specialist in Finance and Administration, she received her education at Barry University, Florida, USA, 1994 – MBA (General) and Howard University, Washington, DC, USA, 1989 – BBA (Finance) and has training in Certified Mortgage Investor, Copyright Material, Financial Analysis Template Development and Advanced Computer Skills.


As founder and Executive Director of Zyacom, a management consultancy, Barbara has provided professional services in major Corporate ventures and projects, including: Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC); Enterprise Rating & Upgrading (ERU), a Private Sector Development Program of the European Union/Government of Jamaica; Winchester Global Pharmacy and Surgical & Medical Institute; Mavis Bank Central Factory; and First Caribbean International Bank; and Tourism Product Development Company.

Fourteen years ago, I met Barbara Jones, a Management Consultant, through the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC). I had gone there to seek assistance to get a Business Plan done for my fashion designing business. A true professional and “on your mark” with her knowledge of business, she was able to put my concept, to accomplish my desired goals, into a very detailed formatted business plan.


She was patient and took the time necessary in learning my business, tested my logics, scoped my business, did the financial projections and prepared the business plan. (See pictures above). As a matter of interest, on my using the plan for the purposes necessary, I have always been complimented on the very “well-packaged” product. Today, as we had planned, my fashions are being displayed and sold in large upscale department stores internationally. I am so impressed with what she has accomplished. I regard Barbara as a very knowledgeable professional.

Over the past eighteen years I have enjoyed and maintained a close professional relationship with Barbara Jones which has redounded to the benefit of the enterprises with which I have been associated. This began in 2002 when she was contracted to do a feasibility study and produce a Business Plan to present to financial institutions for the granting of substantial loans to finance the start-up of what was to become the successful Winchester Surgical & Medical Institute (the first Same Day Surgery hospital in the Caribbean). This Business Plan which Barbara developed was so comprehensive, analytical and brilliantly executed and so impressed our creditors that the desired funding was promptly forthcoming. She also produced an Investors’ Prospectus which we used to attract private investors to the Winchester’s project. Her involvement continued to include the complete implementation of the plan – project management, financial management, human resources management, administrative and corporate governance; and management of the Directors’ Accounts. To date we continue to call on her advice.


Since Winchester’s auspicious start, Barbara has utilized her financial training and skills to prepare several business plans, financial analyses and projections not only for myself but for several others that our Board members have recommended her to. These many other individuals and companies have benefited immensely from her input.
